Scott Yoo Violinist

Scott Yoo was recently appointed Associate Conductor of the Dallas Symphony, after serving one year as the orchestra's Assistant Conductor. He won first prize in the 1988 Josef Gingold International Violin Competition, and the 1989 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. In 1994, Mr. Yoo received an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and a year later was named Young Artist-in-Residence of National Public Radio's Performance Today. He is Music Director of the Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra, an ensemble he cofounded in 1993. Recent recordings with Metamorphosen appear on the New World and Archetype labels. In 1993, Mr. Yoo graduated with honors and a bachelor's degree in physics from Harvard University.
