Paul Coletti, Viola
Paul Coletti, international violist, has recorded on the Kodch, Ars, Toshiba EMI, Mediaphone, Naxos, Arabesque and Claves labels. His D of "English Music for Viola" (Hyperion) was named "Best of the Year" by BBC Magazine, and two Epic Sony CDs featuring Mr. Coletti's compositions with the Japanese group "Typhoon" reached number one in the Classical charts.
Paul Coletti has performed Bartok's Viola Concerto in Berlin for Eurovision TV with Lord Yehudi Menuhin conducting. His all-tango show, "Violatango," with pianist/composer Hannah Reimann was televised by CNN, and MTV filmed a Reimann premiere featuring Coletti as a soloist in New York's Avery Fisher Hall.
Mr. Coletti has toured worldwide from London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, Il Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, the Sydney Opera House to the Caribbean Isle of St. Barts. He has conducted the New Japan Philharmonic in Tokyo and regularly performs throughout Europe with the Menuhin Festival of Washington where he was Head of Strings at age 25. He has collaborated with Leonard Nimoy in a music video which features his composition "Dreamotion." His teachers include Alberto Lysy, Sandor Vegh and Don McInnes.
